Powder Works Covered Bridge, Santa Cruz County, California
The California Powder Works Bridge is a single-span Smith truss covered bridge built in 1872 across the San Lorenzo River in Santa Cruz, California. Constructed by the California Powder Works explosives manufacturer, it was the longest single-span bridge in Santa Cruz County at the time of its construction and supported a narrow-gauge railway spur carrying charcoal from kilns to the powder works.
