Bridgeport or Nyes Crossing, Nevada County, California
The Bridgeport Covered Bridge, constructed in 1862 by the Virginia Turnpike Company, spans the South Yuba River in Nevada County, California. At 230 feet long, it is identified as the longest single-span covered bridge in existence and the only remaining single-span covered wooden bridge of this size in the nation. The bridge was reopened to the public in November 2021 following a decade-long restoration.
