Smith Covered Bridge, Rush County, Indiana
Smith Covered Bridge is a Burr arch truss bridge located near Rushville in Rushville Township, Rush County, Indiana, spanning the Big Flat Rock River. Built in 1877 by Archibald and Emmett Kennedy (also known as A. M. Kennedy), it is the second oldest of six covered bridges remaining in the county. The bridge was damaged by an arson attempt in 1988 and underwent restoration in 1996. It underwent extensive renovations beginning in 2024 and was successfully reinstalled.
