Thorpe Ford Covered Bridge, Parke County, Indiana
The Thorpe Ford Covered Bridge is a single-span Burr Arch Truss bridge built by Joseph A. Britton in 1912 over Big Raccoon Creek, northeast of Rosedale in Parke County, Indiana. Named after the Thorpe family and the ford that preceded it, the bridge was bypassed in 1961, added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, and closed to motor traffic that same year.
