Medora Covered Bridge, Jackson County, Indiana
Medora Covered Bridge, built in 1875 by master builder J.J. Daniels, is located in Carr Township, Jackson County, Indiana, crossing the East Fork of the White River near State Road 235. The bridge is notable as the longest surviving historic wooden covered bridge in the United States and is unique in its use of metal components combined with kingpost and Burr arch construction technologies. It was closed to motor traffic in 1972 and underwent reconstruction in 2011.
