Shieldstown Covered Bridge, Jackson County, Indiana

Shields' Mill Covered Bridge, also known as Shieldstown Covered Bridge, is a multiple kingpost Burr Arch Truss structure spanning the East Fork White River in Jackson County, Indiana. Built in 1876 by J.J. Daniels, it measures 365 feet 6 inches long and is a two-span wooden bridge resting on cut limestone piers and abutments. It replaced a ferry crossing and served the area's agricultural community before being closed to motor traffic in 1977.
