Spencerville or Coburn Covered Bridge, DeKalb County, Indiana
The Spencerville Covered Bridge, built in 1873, spans the St. Joseph River in DeKalb County, Indiana using a Smith Type 4 truss design. Constructed by John A. McKay and the Smith Bridge Company of Toledo, Ohio, the single-span bridge measures approximately 160 feet and is the only remaining covered bridge in DeKalb County. A center support has been added to the structure, and the bridge was bypassed in 2003 or 2004 but remains open.
