Hogback Covered Bridge, Madison County, Iowa
The Hogback Covered Bridge was built in 1884 by Harvey P. Jones and George K. Foster using a Town lattice truss with queenpost overlay. The 106-foot-long bridge spans the North River near Winterset and was named after a nearby limestone ridge with a convex curve resembling a hogback. It was renovated in 1992.
