Shearer Covered Bridge, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania
Shearer Covered Bridge, built in 1847 by Jacob Clare, spans Big Chiques Creek (formerly Chickies Creek) in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Constructed with a single-span, wooden, double Burr arch truss design, the bridge was rebuilt in 1855 and is notable as the only covered bridge in the county painted entirely in red on both interior and exterior.
