Gallon House Covered Bridge, Marion County, Oregon
Built in 1916, the 84-foot Howe truss bridge spans Abiqua Creek near Silverton in Marion County, Oregon. It is the last remaining covered bridge in Marion County and one of the oldest operational covered bridges in Oregon, still open to traffic. The bridge derived its name from its proximity to a local 'gallon house' that sold bootleg spirits during prohibition.
