Shimanek Covered Bridge, Linn County, Oregon
Shimanek Bridge is a Howe truss covered bridge spanning 130 feet across Thomas Creek in Linn County, Oregon. The original 1927 bridge was severely damaged by wind and fallen trees during the Columbus Day Storm of October 12, 1962, and was subsequently demolished. The current bridge was constructed in 1966 and features distinctive red paint, louvered windows, and a portal design characteristic of the original structure, making it notable among Linn County's covered bridges.
