Chitwood Covered Bridge, Lincoln County, Oregon
The Chitwood Bridge, built in 1926 by Otis Hamar, is a 96-foot covered bridge spanning the Yaquina River in Lincoln County, Oregon. The structure features flared sides and semi-elliptical portal arches typical of Lincoln County bridges and carries Chitwood Road off U.S. Route 20. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, the bridge was restored after becoming dilapidated and remains passable by motorized traffic.
