McKee Covered Bridge, Jackson County, Oregon
The McKee Bridge is a covered bridge spanning the Applegate River in Jackson County, Oregon, built in 1917 by contractor Jason Hartman and his son Wesley on land donated by stage station operator Adelbert (Deb) McKee. Originally serving mining and logging traffic, the bridge was closed to vehicular traffic in 1956 but remained open to pedestrians. In 1985, Jackson County ceased financing repairs, leading to the formation of the McKee Bridge Historical Society in 1999 to maintain the structure.
