Eldean Covered Bridge, Miami County, Ohio
The Eldean Covered Bridge, originally known as Allen's Mill Bridge, was built in 1860 over the Great Miami River in Miami County, Ohio by the Hamilton Brothers of Piqua. It is a Long truss design and represents one of the nation's finest surviving examples of this truss type patented by Stephen H. Long in 1830. In 1963, the bridge was by-passed to preserve it as a historic site.
