Kirker Covered Bridge, Adams County, Ohio

The Kirker Covered Bridge is a single-span multiple kingpost truss bridge crossing East Fork Eagle Creek near West Union, Ohio. Built in 1890 (though some evidence suggests 1867), it was constructed askew over the creek and was renamed after Ohio Governor Thomas Kirker, an early settler in the area. The bridge was renovated and reinforced with steel rods in 1950, and was bypassed in 1974. It sustained heavy damage from a storm on April 3, 2024.
