Sulphite Railroad Covered Bridge, Merrimack County, New Hampshire

The Sulphite Railroad Bridge, built in 1896 by the Boston and Maine Railroad, is a historic railroad bridge spanning the Winnipesaukee River between Franklin and Tilton, New Hampshire. It replaced an earlier framed trestle bridge and is notable as an unusual deck-covered railroad bridge. The bridge sustained arson damage years ago and was further damaged by vandalism in 1980, after which it was restored in 2006.
