Keniston Covered Bridge, Merrimack County, New Hampshire

The Keniston Bridge is a historic covered bridge built in 1882 by Albert R. Hamilton in Andover, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, carrying Bridge Street over the Blackwater River. Constructed as a Town Lattice through truss design with two trusses on granite abutments, it represents one of the state's surviving 19th-century covered bridges. The original wooden trusses have been strengthened with added wooden chords and steel reinforcement. The bridge was damaged in 1972 when ice tore off several planks, and was subsequently rehabilitated by the town in 1981 at a cost of $80,000.
