Sturgeon Island Covered Bridge, Pine County, Minnesota

The Sturgeon Island Covered Bridge crosses Sturgeon Island Channel in Pine County, Minnesota, and served as the only vehicular access between Sturgeon Island and the mainland. Built around 1967-1970 by developer Jim Waldhalm, the bridge is painted red and is located at Sturgeon Island Road in Sturgeon Lake, MN. It failed a periodic inspection conducted by the Pine County Highway Department and as of August 2023 is scheduled to be demolished and replaced.
