Red Covered Bridge, Bureau County, Illinois
The Red Covered Bridge is a wooden covered bridge spanning 149 feet over Big Bureau Creek north of Princeton in Dover Township, Bureau County, Illinois, originally built in 1863 at a cost of $3,149. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975 and remains standing, though it sustained severe damage from a semi-truck collision in November 2023 and was closed pending repairs.
