Felton Covered Bridge, Santa Cruz County, California
The Felton Covered Bridge was built in 1892-93 over the San Lorenzo River in Felton, Santa Cruz County, California. Originally constructed as an open truss design with a Brown truss structural system, the full enclosure seen today was added at a later date. The bridge was 163 feet long and served as the main wagon bridge for freight transport between the San Lorenzo Valley and the outside world for approximately 45-46 years before being retired from vehicular traffic.
