Fisher Railroad Covered Bridge, Lamoille County, Vermont

Built in 1908, the Fisher Covered Railroad Bridge is a rare surviving example of a double Town lattice truss that originally carried the St. Johnsbury and Lamoille County Railroad over the Lamoille River. Used daily until a track washout in 1994 forced its closure, it was the last covered railroad bridge in use in the United States. Now part of the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail, the bridge continues to stand in Wolcott, Lamoille County, Vermont.
