Salem-Shotwell Covered Bridge, Lee County, Alabama
The Salem-Shotwell Covered Bridge was originally constructed circa 1900 by Otto Puls over Wacoochee Creek near Salem, Alabama as a 76-foot Town Lattice truss bridge. After a tree collapsed it into the creek during a severe thunderstorm on June 4, 2005, the bridge was reconstructed and relocated to Opelika Municipal Park over Rocky Brook, shortened to 43 feet, and reopened to the public on August 14, 2007.
