Horton Mill Covered Bridge, Blount County, Alabama
The Horton Mill Covered Bridge is a state-owned wooden covered bridge spanning the Calvert Prong of the Little Warrior River in Blount County, Alabama. Built in 1934 by Zelmer & Forret Tidwell (with work by Clyde Tidwell), it is notable as the nation's highest covered bridge, standing approximately 70 feet above the water, and is one of three surviving covered bridges in Blount County. The bridge was restored in 1974 and again in 2013.
