Newton Falls Covered Bridge, Trumbull County, Ohio

The Newton Falls Covered Bridge, built in 1831, is a Town lattice truss structure spanning the east branch of the Mahoning River in Newton Falls, Ohio. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974, it is the second-oldest existing covered bridge in Ohio and the oldest in continuous use on its original site, with a distinctive covered crosswalk added in 1921. The bridge was closed to motor traffic on August 6, 2009, and reopened in March 2010. After being damaged by a truck in February 2022, it underwent repairs and reopened in February 2024.
