Philippi Covered Bridge, Barbour County, West Virginia

Built in 1852, the Philippi Covered Bridge is a wooden Burr truss spanning the Tygart's Valley River in Barbour County, West Virginia. It is one of only six remaining two-lane covered bridges in the United States and the only such bridge carrying a federal highway (U.S. 250). Severely damaged by fire in 1989, the bridge was restored to its original appearance.
